Add interactive embedded indexes
In PDFs that are to be used interactively,
with shorter indexes, where each term appears only once (or multiple
page entries are made unique and changed to separate terms):
index terms are arranged as sorted/grouped bookmarks (following
or preceding the regular heading-oriented bookmarks). The "bookmark
index" is readily available, side-by-side with the document
pages -- readers can click the terms of interest in the bookmark
window without having to go back to the index pages.
Example
(PDF: 112K): All index bookmarks were generated from "newlink
BMK term" hypertext markers, sorted/grouped automatically
by the QuickAccessBookmarks function;
the "bookmark index" has a parent bookmark titled "Quick
Access", but the title is user-defined and can be adjusted
as needed.
